Christopher O'Meara


Christopher is an accomplished Barrister-at-Law working in a range of children’s, parenting and other family law matters as well as commercial matters. He has an extensive history in high level management in a range of government owned enterprises.  He brings all of this experience to the mediation table.

Some of Christopher’s relevant training and experience is as follows: –

  • Registered Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner with the Attorney General’s Department and able to issue S60i Certificates under The Family Law Act 1975
  • Qualified Barrister and Mediator
  • Admitted to Legal Practice in Victoria in 1980 and Queensland in 2000
  • Legal practice includes Family Law and Children’s matters
  • Over 20 years experience in Law and Management
  • Previously General Manager Corporate Services & Company Secretary of Tarong Energy Corporation, a Queensland Government owned electricity producer
  • General Counsel in charge of the Legal Services Unit at Australia Post where he worked for eleven years
  • Previously Legal Manager and Corporate Secretary at ANL Limited (the Australian Government shipping line)
  • Qualified teacher and currently part time lecturer in law
  • Diploma in Company Secretarial Practice
  • Professional Certificate in Arbitration
