Our Founders
Mike Emerson and Denise Britton were inspired in the early 2000’s to commence a dedicated mediation service in Brisbane, as a result of experiencing first hand the negative human impact of more adversarial forms of Dispute Resolution.
Mike and Denise’s skills and training in Law and Psychology/Social Science respectively, as well as in Alternative Dispute Resolution proved to be a winning combination in serving the people of Brisbane and Queensland.
Over the years, with the assistance of their panel of Specialist Mediators, Mike and Denise, through Brisbane Mediations, have assisted many people in conflict to find the best possible outcomes in a cost-effective and user-friendly way.
In 2025 Mike and Denise decided it was time to pass on the baton. Around the same time Stephen Wilkinson contacted them to ask for some supervision – and that conversation ended with Stephen agreeing to purchase the brand and IP assets – with view to relaunching Brisbane Mediations with a new look and feel and a renewed energy.
